Lois Roman is a Trustee of the Memorial Scrolls Trust (MST). The Memorial Scrolls Trust is a London based non-profit which oversees the legacy of 1,564 Czech Torah scrolls that survived the Shoah. After a miraculous story of survival, these scrolls arrived in London and were dispersed on permanent loan to caring communities around the world.
Our Lehigh Valley Jewish community currently has guardianship of several Czech Torah scrolls. The program will feature their stories. Join Us to Commemorate. All events require a valid ID for security purposes. Registration required.

Jewish Day School - Excellence in Academics and Tradition

The Jewish Day School of the Lehigh Valley is happy to announce an exciting new opportunity for Jewish high schoolers grades 10-12. The Academy presents Jewish teens with the opportunity to come together to socialize and learn. Each session begins with a relaxed communal meal, followed by an engaging college-level lesson.
The 10 sessions will run 7:00-8:30 P.M. at the JDS and will be self- contained, with no homework and no follow-up assignments.
Certificates of completion will be given to students who attend at least eight sessions:

• Oct 19, 2026: Prof. Jessica Cooperman, "How Professors Study Jewish History"
• Nov 12, 2026: Prof. Noam Cohen, "Life in Ancient Israel"
• Nov 23, 2026: Prof. Daniel Leisawitz, "A Super-Quick Tour of Italian- Jewish poetry from the Middle Ages through the 20th century"
• Dec 7, 2026: Prof. Hartley Lachter, "What is Jewish Mysticism?"
Spring 2027 dates and topics TBD
Cost: $250 for the 10 sessions of the 26-27 School Year.
